Installation
FlowMail is a desktop app for macOS, available for Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, and M4 chips).
System requirements
- macOS (Sonoma 14.0 or later recommended)
- Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, or M4) — Intel Macs are not supported
Download
Download the latest version of FlowMail from the GitHub releases page.
Look for the .dmg file in the release assets.
Install
- Open the downloaded
.dmgfile. - Drag the FlowMail app icon into the Applications folder.
- Eject the DMG from Finder.
First launch
When you open FlowMail for the first time, macOS may show a security warning. This happens because FlowMail is signed by an independent developer rather than distributed through the Mac App Store.
To open the app:
- Right-click (or Control-click) on FlowMail in your Applications folder.
- Select Open from the context menu.
- In the dialog that appears, click Open to confirm.
You only need to do this once. After the first launch, FlowMail will open normally like any other app.
Initial setup
On first launch, FlowMail will automatically set up its local encrypted database. This only takes a moment. Once complete, you'll be guided through connecting your email accounts and configuring AI features.
All your data is stored locally on your Mac — nothing is sent to external servers beyond what's needed to fetch your email and communicate with your chosen AI provider.
